A Brief History of the Beasts

Most of the current team have been training with Danes since they were 'Pups' (under 6s). Since then, the boys and their families have really gelled as a whole squad. The touchline has always been filled with positive enthusiasm and encouragement and the pitch has always been filled with honest sportsmanship (apart from the parents v kids match where the parents employed some decidedly dubious tactics). Our first league season was 2008/2009 in the Lions division of CYFL. Results steadily improved as we grew in confidence began to play off of each other. The commitment of each and every player to training has led to huge developments in all of the boys; personally, socially and physically. The squad has welcomed all new members as they have joined, leading to some great friendships and positive, on-pitch pairings.

The Awards 2009-2010

Oh what a season. The boys just get better and better. Parents once again participated in sponsored match to secure trophy funds. I think that they weigh up the effort in collecting the monies to the chance to try and beat their boys. Mums and Dads - you didn't manage it this year either and it's only going to get harder! All of the boys secured both votes and trophies for their individual attainments. They were all deserving!
